THERE IS A GHOST IN THE ROOM. For Sure!

24 November 2024–25 January 2026

The exhibition in the renovated basement of Museum Schloss Moyland includes installations with light or sound as weil as sculptural elements in the space that have been specially designed for this exhibition. Works of photography and printmaking as weil as a film will also be presented. Two sound installations have been created for the museum's park. These can be found in the herb garden.

Our reflection suddenly dissolves into nothingness. Musical instruments play as if by magic. Fast camera cuts and unsettling sounds draw us into the spell of a young woman's dizzying nightmare. While delicate etchings transport us into the bizarre fairytale world of the Brothers Grimm, from a distance we hear hectic footsteps. We follow the sound and see a human shadow on the wall. ls it our own or are we not alone?

At night in the dark, we sharpen our senses. lnconspicuous noises such as the groaning of the wooden floor or the creaking of the door suddenly become unmistakable and possible signs of impending danger. The grey-black projection surface of the night provides space for the mysterious and eerie. Wide awake, we try to categorise and interpret the stimuli we encounter in the semidarkness.

There is a ghost in the room. For sure!
